Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali 138th birthday (25th Dec 2014)

The nation is paying homage to its founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 138th birthday on 25th December 2014.
Even though Pakistanis are still grieving over Peshawar massacre in which as many as 142 people including 133 children lost their lives, they are expressing determination to renew pledge with Quaid to workday and night for the progress of the country.
Quaid-e-Azam, literally ‘the great leader’, heroically fought for the right to self determination for Muslims of the subcontinent. His leadership, advocacy and faith led to the creation of what was deemed impossible at the time, Pakistan.
In 1940, he first suggested the idea of the partition of India to create Pakistan and led negotiations with the British government. This resulted in the partition of India and the creation of the state of Pakistan on 14 August 1947.
